I know we had a thread that was nearly but not quite about this but I need more specific suggestions. For my up-coming birthday celebrations (there will be a lot of them) I am having a karkoke night for all my lady friends only (sorry boys) and we want to go somewhere central and public. So none of these priva...

Has anyone else noticed that weird sulphur/stink bomb/fart smell at the bottom of the final escalator, as you exit the Underground from the Jubilee line at Waterloo? I have never noticed it in the mornings – only in the evenings at around 6-7pm… What is it, where it is coming from and why don’t ...

Has anyone else seen the big white wooden cat with pointy ears between waterloo east and London Bridge? It’s been there a while and from Halloween there was a giant pumpkin on a table in front of it like some sort of offering. The pumpkin slowly disintegrated and has been replaced with a toilet with a statu...

While broswing Wikipedia I was interested to note that the boffins at London Underground have decided that travelling on the Waterloo & City line is far too pleasant. So, they’ve decided to insall mobile phone coverage. Super. Not only does this seem entirely fucking pointless (it’s only a 5 minut...

This is a message to the little bastard who decided to set off the alarms at Waterloo today. You are a bastard. Thanks to you, 32, Male, Twickenham, I missed the deadline of my first peice of coursework and was over 2 hours late into college, after sitting on a cramped waterloo fast service for an hour and a h...

Estate Agents are rubbish. Just in case anyone didn’t know yet. Commercial ones are just as bad as residential ones but smarmier. Anyway, I’ve been hounding a whole list of commercial estate agents in a vain attempt to find an office to rent. Around 400-500 sq ft in Central London (West End/Waterloo/P...

When I first moved to London I had a load of mates who lived over in mile end; my journey home to Clapham would involve making my way to waterloo via embankment. One night the tubes were messed up so I legged it across the river between the two stations - what a buzz…that view sent shivers down my spine and re...

My girlfriend was ARRESTED by a ticket collection guy at waterloo east station for allegedly giving a false address. She didn’t – she just isn’t on the electral roll so they couldn’t check. She was read her rights – you have the right to remain silent and everything… She was amaze...

I have a vein on my ankle that, for whatever reason, looks remarkably like the section of the River Thames between Waterloo and Greenwhich… (except smaller and different in all the usual ways that an ankle vein is different from a capital city). Does anyone else have body parts that resemble famous London l...

Can anybody recommend a decent place to eat before a perfomance at the Old Vic – ie Waterloo, The Cut, etc? I’m not too familiar with the area and would consider anything from pub-grub to a decent mid-priced restaurant…

I’m going to a fancy dress party tonight: the theme is Law & Order. So I want a bar to meet up in beforehand where I’m not likely to be beaten up in my Kinky WPC outfit! It needs to be in the Waterloo or London Bridge area… I wanted to go to Baltic but it shuts at 11pm! Any thoughts?

Sorry for introducing such an unpleasant topic, but has anyone else noticed the persistent smell of sick near the Bakerloo platforms at Waterloo? It never seems to go away! What on earth can be causing it? – I first noticed this phenomenon several years ago and it has not dissipated.
