Does anyone believe this story about the ICA toilets looking on to a nuclear bunker?

If you go into the gents toilets at the ICA, fourth cubicle along, and stand on the toilet seat you can see a grille. If you look through this you can see a mysterious door that apparently leads to the secret Whitehall city under the city where all the politicians and royals will go in the event of nuclear war. That...

Went out last night, and stupidly forgot to go the loo before we left the pub. We then, of course, missed the last tube, so went to get the night bus. “there’ll be a loo on the way”, I think to myself, but no, even places like Macdonalds close their loos after 11 (and I was even willing to pay ...

How do you tell people what they can and can't flush down your loo?

We’ve got one of those electric-munchy loos (apologies to any plumbers reading this – my knowledge of sanitation products is limited) that is ludicrously over sensitive to anything that isn’t ‘organic’ or bog roll. It is so sensitive that it packs up at the first sign of a cotton wool b...

With water watchdog Ofwat (try saying that three times fast) set to fine Thames Water £12m for “inadequate” reporting and customer service we found ourselves wondering which other organisations should be fined for letting Londoners down. We at Fridaycities would like to see the Metro fined at least £1...

Rapid relief now at hand in Westminster?

Spending a penny in London’s Westminster City Council area has just been made more convenient. For 25p a shot, a new mobile phone service – dubbed SatLav – will steer unenlightened shoppers, workers, tourists (and, of course, others seeking rapid relief) towards their nearest WC on the block. By te...

Hi, I’m trying to put together a list of trains/stations etc that have public toilets, chargeable or not, I don’t mind. My bum disease means I need the loo a lot (many people have this but for some reason no one talks about it much…). For examples, South West Trains (not the red ones) have toilets,...

A really shit site

Normally, when you describe a web site as really shit, you mean it’s bad. But Diaroogle is superb. It lists nice public toilets around London, so is genuinely really useful for those moments when you’re caught short and don’t want a Trainspotting style experience.
