The best thing about Germany in summer is the myriad of local ice-cream cafes. Often run by Italian-German couples, these independent places sell a wide menu of carefully crafted, yet grossly proportioned sundaes at reasonable prices. In London, I only know of dingy franchised cafes selling Unilever subsidiary brand...
