I’m looking to buy some nice new shoes and wondered if you FCLers knew any good places to buy vintage mens shoes at a reasonable price. Looking for some lovely old brogues that won’t break the bank. I’ve tried a few of the better charity shops around town and Deptford Market. Any suggestions?

Ideally I’d like second hand or salvaged internal and front doors, but new doors would be a start. Obviously, not fussed about B&Q/Homebase/IKEA/Habitat etc. – but somewhere else, ideally west london or even out of town is fine. I’m currently looking for a tough old desk for working on. Preferably something completely unfashionable like G plan or old brown Victorian furniture, the sort of thing that lasts until you have to hit it with an axe to make firewood. I should be moving to a new place soon but as an recent graduate, im a bit short of cash and stuff. I was wondering if anyone knows good places to get second hand furniture from? I guess i need everything from the door mate to the kitchen sink!
