Where can I watch rugby with my pants on?

My friends and I are all keen rugby fans, but we’re short of a pub for six nations games in the West End or West London that has a reliably good atmosphere for the games. We don’t want to drink a yard of ale and sing obscene songs with our trousers round our ankles, just have a couple of beers in a good ...

Where can a beginner play rugby in North London?

I’m looking for places in North London that will accept an absolute beginner into a Rugby team. I’m obviously not expecting to play competatively, but to train with them with that as an end goal. Any advice would be warmly welcomed, and good advice may result in the awarding of Kinder Eggs! Friends keep...

Never try travelling in Twickenham on a match day....A lesson.

You’d think I would have learnt my lesson, having lived in twickenham since time began I was born. I made the fatal error of travelling from where I live through the Twickenham station to get to work, as the buses were still on divert at the time I was leaving. AKA. No buses that go near where you want unle...

Just to say I am not your typical rugby girl, far from it. I like to go to Rugby matches a lot. I’m a Tigers fan. Due to my male social crowd being swayed towards football and cricket, I feel like I’m in a peculiar minority. None of my female friends would ever consider going to the rugby and the guys w...

Where's the best place to go for St Patrick's Day 2007?

I currently have a few friends over from Boston who are obviously used to having mind-blowing celebrations every year on St Pat’s Day. Now last year I was working at an agency that had O’Neill’s as a client and although they are a ‘themed’ Irish pub chain, had an awesome day as I end...

Anyone planning on watching Rugby World Cup matches in my sort of pub?

Don’t think of me as some sort of trousers-round-my-ankles, upturned-pint-pot-on-my-head, beer-swilling hooray-henry (please), but I enjoy watching rugby. And seeing as there’s a Rugby World Cup starting a few days from now, I plan to watch a fair amount of the stuff over the next month or so (even after England hav...

Is there a reliable rugby pub in Wimbledon?

On Saturday afternoon, I’m going to be in Wimbledon – an area that I’m not hugely familiar with. At about 5pm, I will be wanting/needing to watch the England v USA Rugby World Cup match. Annoyingly, it seems that this clashes with some poxy football match which is inconveniently scheduled to tak...

Question of the Day: Why is England still better than South Africa?

As most all of you already know, England watched the Rugby World Cup go to South Africa after losing the 15-6 game. Ouch. England might’ve lost the battle, but what of the war? There must be loads of ways that England is better than South Africa. Won’t you name a few? That way we can heal together.

Any lovely fellow Welshies watching the game in London? All my mates/family are away or don’t like rugby, or skint. Bastards.
