Okay I know this question probably highlights lack of imagination on my part. But I have gone to restaurants, cinema, the London eye and even a few shows in London with my girlfriend. What other new and exciting things can I do in London with her? I have just finished Uni so things are very tight but ...

Does anyone know a fun venue that has a restaurant and dancefloor? I am organising a group out, and really don’t feel like traipsing from spot to spot waiting in queues, etc.? I am looking for a fun vibe, not pretentious… any locations in central London welcome.

I’ve somehow managed to end up working in not very glamorous Brent Cross. Thankfully I still live in south London which means long tube journeys but at least get to read a lot, listen to music and be generally antisocial. Plus I have some greenery and fewer ugly concrete thngs to come back to. Anyway I’v...

The freesheet papers, right. They’re full of toss and are only there to disguise rafts of adverts for nasal clippers and stuff, yeah. But that doesn’t stop shouty, interfering, imbecilic, DICKS from blocking almost every tube entrance/zebra crossing/crowded street corner and shoving copies in my face 4...

Following on from the successful eating of scorpions and kangaroos, I thought it was high time FCL had another food-based night out. August can be a tricky time since many are on holiday, but I’m tentatively looking at a time between the 15 and 20 of August. Restaurant suggestions are below. As before, pu...

Just driven down the Old Kent Road and spotted a restaurant called “Elvis Gracelands Palace Chinese Restaurant”. Looked interesting but wanted to ask if anybody had been there and did they have a real Elvis? If not anybody know where I can get some food and some live Elvis (will travel, big fan)? Dorf...

Having just come back from a FANTASTIC holiday in the snow in Andorra, and feeling truely rotten to be back at work, my thoughts turn to food…. After a gruling day on the slopes there was nothing like stuffing myself silly with fantastic fondue, so Im wondering, is there anywhere in London I can get a fondu...

A few years ago I remember and Indian Restauranteur had bought an out of service Jumbo Jet and was planning to turn it into a (static) Restaurant. Now I am an absolute sucker for gimicks so this really appealed to me but I’ve heard nothing since. Does anyone out there know if he ever got his business ‘...

Does anyone know where the Fatboys Diner that was on Maiden Lane is now, or if it’s still going? I heard it went to Spitalfields but I don’t think it’s still there. For those who don’t know, it’s mobile. Moocher

Some Dutch family members are coming to visit soon, and we’d like to be able to provide them with an attempt at their favourite Dutch foods. Does anyone know a shop (or even better a cafe/restaurant) that sells stroopwaffels, vla, and their absolute favourite, poffertjes? Ideally west, but have an oyster ca...

Does anyone know of anywhere that will serve us champagne along with our bacon n eggs (or pancakes or muffins or whatever – it’s the champagne that’s important) at about 7am on a Sunday morning in the central London area? My cousin is doing that marathon that you powerwalk in your bra at night, she...

Internet searches fell at the first hurdle and I have just about reached the end of my tether. I need London’s finest black pudding and I need it now. South West London has proved a washout. Please – any help anyone can give me would be most gratefully recieved. It might sound like a trivial request but ...

After years of travelling through Hammersmith’s H&C line station on the way to and from work, I’ve recently discovered that El Metro, the rather shabby looking bar within the station concourse, is actually very good. In fact, I’d go as far as to say that it’s the closest thing I’ve ...

Why is it, when every supermarket is making a killing on low-fatready meals, restaurants keep piling on the calories? Are there any restaurants in London serving low-fat food in a nice atmosphere? Health-food cafes are fine for lunch or a snack, but I’m looking for something more substantial to dine out on. I&...

I’d like to have a girly brunch or late breakfast with about 10 mates, ideally in a fancyish hotel for about £20 each on a Saturday. Near or in Kensington/Holland Park/Bayswater would be perfect… Has anyone been to the Orangery? Googling got mixed reviews. muncherbruncher

Aaaahh, my life was changed (well, not really…) by http://www.5pm.co.uk – it’s a great site that lists restaurants that are running special meal offers and deals. They’re not naff restaurants either – a lot of the deals on there are for unusual nights of the week for going out and stran...
