Anyone recommend a child friendly cafe/restaurant in South Kensington?

I have the pleasure of taking my two nephews (aged 2 and 6) to the Natural History Museum this Saturday and am completely stumped as to what to do with them food-wise. All the restaurants I’ve been to are good for taking someone on a date, but not really that family oriented. Any suggestions?

The date that most people can join on is Thursday 23 August. Sadly, this will leave us Flippy-less so we should have a moments pause ov...

I’d be glad to know, if someone could tell me, which Chinese restaurant to go to in Chinatown. I must have eaten their a dozen times, and had some good meals, some bad meals, some excellent meals, but I don’t have it firmly fixed in my mind where to go. Or where not to go. I’m bored of the fact tha...

Where can I find good Italian food in Bethnal Green?

Posted by whenthiswasfields over 2 years ago

This weekend has mostly been informed by my 2 trips to La Forchetta on Bethnal Green Road. On Friday I went a little drunk and had the Forchetta salad (lots of parma ham, rocket and parmesan) followed by veal saltimbocca and french beans. I was with a friend and we drank a bottle of red and screeched at each other. ...

What's a good restaurant to take a girl on her birthday?

I’d very much like to have some suggestions from people of a restaurant which will fit these criteria: 1) Suitable for taking a girl on her birthday. Not too flashy but intimate without being overbearing I would say. 2) I am a struggling journo so £80-100 absolute tops, preferably even less without looki...

This may elicit a ton of response, but I was wondering what the best-value Tapas bar in London is? I recently visited a great one, but was not so impressed with the bill. I have googled for London Tapas bars and turned up plenty of menus, but of course, they could all be rubbish. So, readers please recommend! ...

I need a recommendation for a good, classy, quiet restaurant in Mayfair (Dover St area – just off Piccadilly) for a client of mine who’s over from the US soon and wants to take a colleague out for dinner on a Sunday evening. Surprisingly enough I rarely set foot in this part of town, let alone eat out th...

Where can a family eat out on 14th Feb?

My daughter’s birthday is on Valentines Day which is really sweet but also a pain in the arse because everywhere seems to charge a premium for eating out on that night. We’re up in town on the 14th to see “Jump” and would like to go to have something to eat afterwards. It’s an afternoon...

Where can I get Thai-ed up?

I did a search, as you’re meant to, for Thai restaurant recommendations on here but it seems this conversation didn’t really go anywhere. I want the finest Thai restaurant in London please – one that prides itself on its delicious and not scaldingly hot green curry and that’s a tad more centr...

While reading one of the other threads about where to find really excellent Thai food, I wondered a question I have often wondered while wandering arround Camden. Where are the best greasy spoons?

Good greasy spoons in London? I’m not talking your gastro-bollocks where you can get mocha-frappa-cuntá-lattés and croissants. I’m talking your proper greasy spoon; open from 5am, overflowing ash-trays on formica tabletops, 40p for a milky cuppa and selling a million different menu options which, on exam...

Where are the best places to get some solo dining action? Somewhere where I won’t be viewed as a freak or chatted up by a randy waiter.
