The other day I went into a pub in my speedos and a towel under my arm, the barman – looking rather puzzled – asked what i was doing, i said the sign on the window said ‘food, beer garden, pool’ The old ones are the best. Anyways, I’m off to play pool next week and I realised I don&...

Hello, I have the urge to go swimming, preferably somewhere with a 15m + pool good for doing laps in. Public pools would be best as I don’t really fancy signing up to a Gym just to swim. I live in Camden so anywhere nearby or a short cycle/bus trip would be just peachy. Cheers

That’s pool as in balls-and-cues, not pool as in speedos-and-goggles. I don’t know if such a place has existed since Disraeli was in charge, but I’m looking for a posh place to play pool. Ideally somewhere reasonably high-end that would cater for a group of around 10 people, where we can be rela...

My holiday plan this year was to take some time off and hang out in London – as we were supposed to be having a ‘heat-wave summer’. Well, that didn’t work. And now work committments have meant that I can’t go take any time off until October. So, and I know this isn’t strictly abou...

Happy New Year. I have two New Year’s resolutions that I would like people’s help with. (1) A decent, down to earth wine course that isn’t up its own jaxxi with all this “ooh, I’m getting guava, I’m getting gerbils, I’m getting tarmac” nonsense. (2) Is there anyw...

Have been put in charge of our Christmas party this year – I think I drunkenly offered to do it after the disaster of last year which involved a trip to the horrible dive that is Sugar Reef. Nuff said. Aaaanyway – we’re a small company – about 16 of us, age range 20-45 – and I wanna come up with something good. S...
