What's the best gym in Old Street, Barbican, Finsbury Sq?

My work has just moved from Mayfair to Old Street environs (Dufferin Street if specifics help!) and for some really quite strange reason that has prompted me to decide to join a gym. SO!!! Question is, does anyone have any experiences of the (seemingly numerous) gyms around here. The Virgin Active place looks OK...

I’m keen to give pilates a go on the basis that it will make me thin and beautiful. Thing is, places round me (Old St) are quoting frankly outrageous prices – like upwards of 20 quid a session. Is it worth it? Anyone done it?
