Who else has seen pigeons cheerfully hopping on and off the Tube? I saw one going from (I think) South Kensington on a deserted Circle Line train that was waiting with the doors open for about ten minutes. I was the only passenger in the carriage, and after a bit a pigeon hopped in and wandered around, picking up cr...

Hello, A racing pigeon has landed in our garden, and has been staying there since yesterday. All attempts to shoo it away have been rebuffed. I have been told off by bf for thinking that a little roast pigeon should be on the menu. So, will it fly away home? Is there a way of finding out its fancier owner? Will...

Food is so abundant on London’s floor that pigeons don’t really have to make an effort and some pretty sorry specimens are able to survive. What are your most horrific pigeon sightings? My top three are probably: 1. a pigeon with some brains poking out 2. a pigeon with a slice of cucumber stuck to its...

Where do they all actually go? I reckon its under the railway bridge by Bethnal Green station. Next time you’re there, look up – not a particularly pleasant sight! It was only last week the skeleton of one such beast dropped down on the pavement – I thankfully avoided it… Urgh.

I seem to see areas of London that have a huge amount of manky footed pigeons. A lot of them only have a stump. What is going on? Are the Pigeons of town starting to chew off their own foot as they taste like a discarded McDonalds, or are they getting them caught in tube doors whilst commuting to the centre? A...

Prompted by WillTheUnwise’s recent post about eating outside, I have an additional question – I am so scared of pigeons – it’s bad enough walking down the street with them attacking me (perhaps that is slightly paranoid) – but as the weather warms up people want to eat outside, and it...

What are your top suggestions for a practical use of London’s Pigeons? Here’s a few starters: 1) Tightly packed they would make excellent padding for childrens play areas. 2) They could be trained as couriers…safer than being knocked over by cyclists! 3) I’m sure they could be mel...

Is this the most pointless vigil in London?

Pigeons. These people are holding a candlelight vigil for disease ridden birds too stupid to seek alternative sources of food. I can’t decide whether this is just stupid or stupid and insulting. These people will blithely walk past starving people on the way to protest the plight of pigeons.
