I appreciate that this might mark me out as a loony, but have any readers ever employed the services of a pet psychologist? My cat is going mental in the night and I am becoming increasingly desperate. Does it work or is it a big ol’ waste of money? Miss Margo

You can’t just cover them in bubblewrap and ask them not to climb trees/eat frogspawn and sick it up on your kitchen floor/bring in earthworms for you to step on in your barefeet at 3am on the way to the loo/go tharn in front of oncoming traffic.
