I wandered into Gillespie Park last evening while on the phone, and very pleasant it was too; very nature-y, long grass, paths that lead straight into thickets, that sort of thing. Almost like the real country, except that you can see the Emirates from there. It got me thinking though, now it’s summer, wher...

I have spent a few good afternoons on Wandsworth having a drink and possibly scorching the grass with one of those rubbish disposable jobs that cooks the ground, the charcoal and itself but not the BBQ chicken wings you forgot to pre-cook a bit. Frankly thats ok, but its really just a big traffic island isn’t ...

“This station is closed for refurbishment, please do not disembark – Metronet” Oh wait, yes. And I was just about to leave this train still moving at 5 miles an hour through a pair of tightly shut sliding doors… This would be funny if the sign was placed where people would see it. Inste...

My order for a fancy blue stunt kite has just been confirmed and I am getting ready to enjoy some fresh air and good clean fun (as opposed to sitting in smoke-filled drinking pits talking philosophy). Does anyone have a kite and fancies getting together sometime? I’ve got a couple of friends who have kites ...

Nothing to strenuous or competitive! Now that the long summer evenings are upon us wouldn’t be nice to go to a park and play a bit of football, after work one day? Then maybe a pint or two after…. Anyone up for that?

Since the ole global warming ting has got us in its grasp, should we consider a big old ramshackle picnic type event in the summer in some park or other? As an FCL do?

I’ve been burning the candle, not just at both ends, but in the middle as well recently. You FCLers are lovely but you’re wearing me out, to be honest. I could therefore do with winding down a bit before I head off to Edinburgh and have to cope with small, shrieking children for a month. I’m the...

Am going to be changing offices soon and leaving the lovely restaurant and shopping heaven that is Fitzrovia / Tott Ct Road (how will I live without Heals?) for Mornington Crescent. Does anyone have any recommendations for good cafes or delis, places to eat lunch up there, nice walks, parks in which to munch a sand...
