Does anyone pay on bendy buses? I don’t. I know that when I travel on them a very very small minority of people touch their Oyster cards. I wonder if anyone here knows what effect this is having of TFL’s finances. Will we see the introduction of conductors? If we do how will they get down the bus? Furthe...

By borrowing my flatmate’s monthly travel card on oyster (not a photo one) to avoid extortionate tube fares, am I risking being fined / thrown into jail etc if I come across one of the spot- checks (which they seem to have in Brixton tube quite frequently?) Even if he has given me permission to use it would th...

I happened to be at a football match, where I was introduced to a friend of a friend, who turned out to have recently been pretty senior in TfL. He confirmed that the big issue is paying for installing card readers at overland stations. Basically, it costs about £800 per card reader, so there’s the additional ...

Anyone know why it is that when you break your oyster card, you need to fill out a form detailing all the information about the tickets on it and how much pay-as-you-go credit you had? Surely they have this on their database? If not, what’s to stop a dishonest person saying they have a lot more than they actua...

As you are probably all aware, I seem to have more problems on buses and trains than anyone else – so this is something close to my heart. I am fed up of ridiculous arguments with bus drivers about accepting “real money”, and being charged large amounts of money for a transport service that is, ...

Does anyone else have this happen to them because it seems to happen to me on a daily basis… The person in front of you going through the ticket barriers touches their card on the reader and then proceeds to KEEP IT on the reader as they’re going through, so the machine often reads it twice and goes r...

I very stupidly lost my travel card (a zones 1-5 monthly one). Its in a red southwest trains holder with a blue debit card (barclays) in it, a student 18+ oyster card and a £20 note. If anyone finds it, I would possibly marry them. I only bought the travel card a week ago and its still valid. If at my local stati...

Oyster Card Problems

Why have Transport for London made it so difficult for commuters to get a refund on their Oyster card? It used to be the case where you could go to the ticket office and they would correct your journey for you. So simple and it worked. But TfL must have realised how much money they could make by making it as difficu...
