Anyone know of a venue where you can dance to some good old fashioned swing / jazz / crooner classics without being stampeded by the free bus pass brigade? Somewhere laid back (i.e. not trendy and pretentious) but with the possibility of dance lessons? A live swing band would be great too. Does such a place exist???...

Now it’s coming up to the festive season, it’s time to remind the other half how much I like him & treat him to a night out. My man is a massive fan of 50’s swing/soul music & I’d love to take him somewhere where we can have some good food while a band/pianist plays in the background....

In Ibiza, there are some great club nights where it is all about the music, the dancing, and the atmosphere – however I have failed to find a night like this in London. I am looking for a club night with decent house music (particularly ‘sexy house’); less 18 year olds than many London nights se...

Does anyone know a fun venue that has a restaurant and dancefloor? I am organising a group out, and really don’t feel like traipsing from spot to spot waiting in queues, etc.? I am looking for a fun vibe, not pretentious… any locations in central London welcome.

Hello, my lovely lady is fed up of being dragged to clubs where the music sounds like a bunch of robots fighting in skips so I’ve promised to take her to a club that plays her favourite disco and funk music but I was wondering whether anyone could recommend anything good. I don’t fancy anything too ch...

Does anyone know where are the best clubs to go to on a Saturday night if you wanna dance like a crazy fool to such classics as the Jackson Five, The Weathergirls and other dubious musical talents? Ideally it would be somewhere South East, but Central is good too if the place is truly cheese-tastic!

Are there any proper Flamenco nights in central London?

Well, I’ve got nothing to tell you (other than that the beer in the Porterhouse in Covent Garden is probably the nicest I’ve had in quite some time – particularly the stout and porter), but I’d like to ask readers if they know of any flamenco nights in north or central London. Proper ones, mi...

Dance trainer required. Good rates paid or can join a class – will consider variations on the above theme. If you can post a reply in time for Xmas, that would be helpful. But my girlfriend and I can certainly make it our New Year’s resolution to learn how to dance if there’s a class starting so...

Since Christmas I’ve been entertaining vague fantasies of performing a tigrish man-eating tango in a sexy, sequinned red dress a la Bunton in “Strictly Come Dancing” and heck, as it’s new year, it seems a good time to find out if there’s a friendly, absolute beginners ballroom dancing c...

Hello. I’ve been charged with organising a “messy night out” for a group of 15 blokes. Devoid of any imagination whatsoever I’ve decided to plump for the pub & curry option but am a bit stumped for what to do post-curry. Going back to the pub is obviously number one option for me, but som...

I’m off to Fabric tomorrow night to get off my pickle and bounce around like a loon until the sun comes up. Anyone else into that sort of thing? Also… i’m going with my younger brother and although I love him to bits I fully expect to lose him at some point in the evening. So if nowt goes to pla...

About once a day, I do that little side-to-side dance thing which you do when you and someone else are on the same trajectory and trying to avoid one another. Sometimes it happens more than once a day. I mostly like it, and if you do it with a like minded soul, then you both have a bit of a smile and a chuckle. When...

Just an idea at the moment, but there’s still tickets available for the EXIT festival in Serbia from Thursday July 6th until Sunday July 9th. I fancy driving over there in some sort of van – possibly buy an old banger off eBay, drive it over and back, then re-sell it when we get back. Tickets are 7...

That’s right – June’s fun-packed Burn Soo Bright indie/Britpop shenanigans are taking place on Friday 1st June 2007 at our regular haunt, the Royal George just off Charing Cross Road. Very handy for night buses! Our philosophy is simple – we play songs you love, songs you haven’t heard ...
