My friend needs somewhere to dump her boyfriend

No, she doesn’t need to dump his body! She just wants to meet him during the day in a public place where you can get coffee or a drink and where there is enough privacy not to be overheard or feel too exposed if it all gets a bit weepy. Anywhere central would be good. I think she wants to do it Wednesday&...

Anyone want to give me an enema?

£400 and you get to witness the contents of my bowels. You can only give me an enema, though, and there’ll be no funny business. Some experience in this area would be most welcome. You must supply your own tubing etc. and the coffee must be organic and fair-trade, ideally an Italian roast.

Decent Coffee Shops in Town

I have an aversion to the big chain coffee shops – not only are they putting small independant coffee shops out of business, but they do terrible food, on the whole. So it would be useful to know about small decent places in town, around all the usual hotspots – oxford street, piccadilly, holborn, strand...

A friend of a friend is travelling from the USA to London in a weeks time, and couldn’t possibly do without her internet access for more than a day. She desperately asked me if “Starbucks” in London had free wireless access- and although it does, there MUST be something better than that overpric...

Well thats it… i’m officially shattered. Working on fecking powerpoint designs until 3am… I’ve been working far too many 18 – 20 hr days over the past three weeks (before FCL time… -4hrs) and as exhilerating as being busy and surfing on a wave of adrenaline can be…. i...

Do other people get free coffee, or am I a lucky pixie?

Now I only get coffees from time to time, perhaps one-and-a-half times a week, but when I do they’re often FREE! As a freelancer, I work all over London so rarely visit the same coffee shop, but they are always nice coffee shops – if not an indepedent place, I’ll be in Eat or Pret. Starbucks soya...

Any guilty anti-environmental pleasures?

I’ll fully admit to jumping on the save-the-planet bandwagon and doing what I can, without going over the top about it, to reduce my general consumption/output levels. But I have some bad for the environment habits that I can’t kick, and frankly, don’t want to. Like coffee – I buy at least ...

What's the best way to spend a sunny day in London at this time of year?

It’s a lovely day. Early spring rather than late summer, I’d say. So what’s the best way to pass it? Not at work, obviously, which is the route I took. I was in town for something else this morning and ended up sat outside on Tottenham Court Road, the air bright and breezy and coffee in my hand....

Yes, you heard it here first, or you may have heard it on the other thread. Either way there will be another cRaZy FCL meet up on the 11th May. Put it in your diary. Same venue or somewhere different?

Where can I get a late-night coffee?

This’ll sound strange to some, but sometimes, what I’d really like is to go out for a mellow coffee, and maybe even an icecream late in the evening (10ish – midnightish)! I know there must be the perfect place for me in central or south west London – somewhere you don’t have to shout to...

Is it wrong to want a coffee after 11pm?

I thought London was one of the cosmopolitan capitals of the world. I was proved wrong however last Friday when I was unable to get served a coffee in several restaurants after 11pm around the St. James Place/Bond Street area. Three of us had finished a meal and decided to move somewhere different for a coffee ra...

We’ve had pubs and greasy spoons, how about cafes? Anything from glorified wine bar to quaint tea-room.

Where can I get a fresh brew of Kopi Luwak (Civet coffee)?

Is there a cafe in London that serves Kopi Luwak? It’s the most expensive coffee in the world and I would like to try it in a cafe rather than buying a whole pack online which turns out as £11 per cup to make. For those who don’t know, it’s the coffee cherries that have been eaten by civets and pas...

Could anyone recommend a decent comfortable cafe/tea room/coffee shop near Liverpool Street where I can meet a friend after work? Or even a quite pub would do. We aren’t meeting for long so I want some quality catch up time rather than waste time trying to find a seat/shout over the music/struggle to get ser...

Is the coffee shop on Jermyn Street still there?

Years ago I stayed at the Cavendish and frequented a dingy little cafe/diner/coffee place on Jermyn Street, I’m pretty sure it was across Jermyn street from Davidoff’s (definitely a right turn on Jermyn from Picadilly Arcade and walk toward the Ritz). It was not fancy but offered good hearty food, simpl...

I have been watching alot of Twin Peaks in a short period of time and the repetition of these drinks and foodstuffs has made me want them. Even though I don’t particularly like coffee. So! I’m looking for recommendations for reputable establishments that serve amazing pies and damn fine coffee. Fai...

I’m meeting my friend Kate for a coffee and exciting FCL chat next week. We’ve got as far as Borough as a meeting point but neither of us know it very well (for shame). Where’s good at 10am on a Wednesday morning?

or somesuch. Would anyone here be interested in a regular meet-up for coffee, socialising and alike, not a major blow out night like the 25th, but a couple of hours on a Sunday afternoon at somewhere like Flat White or Monmouth in Borough? Just an idea…
