My work has just moved from Mayfair to Old Street environs (Dufferin Street if specifics help!) and for some really quite strange reason that has prompted me to decide to join a gym. SO!!! Question is, does anyone have any experiences of the (seemingly numerous) gyms around here. The Virgin Active place looks OK...

After months of saving I treated myself to a digital SLR at xmas. I know a bit about photograpy but would like to improve my skills. Does anyone know of any good photography courses in Wandsworth / Merton area? Most of the ones I’ve found only really deal with film SLR’s. Something at the evening or week...

I’ve been meaning to start going to German classes for ages and now I actually need to for work. I’ve found a plethora of classes but am struggling to work out which one could be right. I did A-level at school so (20 years ago) I could speak and understand it pretty well but I’ve since forgotten al...

Does anyone know who runs a Bulgarian for beginners course? Preferably anywhere east of Victoria (where I work). I did a Spanish course with Westminster adult education services but they don’t offer Bulgarian. Ideally I’d like to join a class as opposed to one-on-one tuition. Thanks!

Not for me but my future brother-in-law. I’ve had a quick google but whilst it may show locations (or not in some cases) I’d prefer recommendations so he doesn’t waste his time or money. Any martial artists out there who can help?

I want to give someone a cookery class as a pres, and ideally go along with them. I have done a course with Eat Drink Talk in Clerkenwell and it was awesome, but a tad on the pricey side… are all cookery classes in London upward of 50-70 quid? I am looking at one-off classes of a couple of hours on an evening ...

Does anyone know of somewhere to go where you can learn to dance and people are actually interested in dancing not getting it on??! Have recently tried salsa dancing in a few venues and have met some ‘interesting’ characters. It seems if you’re a lone female just wanting to learn partner dancing, h...
