Where are the cheese-laden dancing possibilities?

Does anyone know where are the best clubs to go to on a Saturday night if you wanna dance like a crazy fool to such classics as the Jackson Five, The Weathergirls and other dubious musical talents? Ideally it would be somewhere South East, but Central is good too if the place is truly cheese-tastic!

Help me city! Bored this eve, I got aroung to doing a bit of internet banking. Realising that yet again I have much less money than I hoped until payday, I examined my transactions in great detail, which is when I discovered someone has stolen a bit of me- well at least £3.88. There is no great coincidence that̵...

Ooh, just like a fish (or where can I buy a Lomo?)

Camera types, do you know of anywhere (either central, around Islington or near the city) that I can buy a Lomo? Specifically a Fisheye 2? I’d been thinking, and forgetting, about getting one for a while & on Sunday, while breakfasting in Peckham, I ventured into a bookshop conveniently located around t...

How do you remedy the post holiday blues in London?

Am post holiday. Am blue. Normally I love this city but all I want now is to be in France eating a Toulouse sausage and drinking a glass of red wine. Possibly with some cheese. In the sunshine. That’s where I was in that hat. Ideas? I have tried dressing as if it is summer but my legs got cold yesterday in ...

What are Londoners doing to prevent the Ragnarok?

In Norse mythology, Ragnarök is the battle at the end of the world. It will be waged between the Æsir, led by Odin, and the forces of chaos (Loki and his monstrous children, as well as, among others, the Jötnar). Not only will most of the gods, giants, and monsters perish in this apocalyptic conflagration, but almos...

Update Meeting at The White Swan, 14 Vauxhall Bridge Road from noon. Bit more exciting than wine, I’m proposing a largely FCL-led cheese and absinthe party on the next Bank Holiday Monday. Bring cheese, bring Absinthe, bring a change of pants. And some sugar. And a spoon. And a good pointy knife. I have a s...

A long time away it might seem but it’ll be snapping at our heels before we know it. So without any particular date or location in any mind at the moment I thought I would throw the idea to you wonderful FCLers for consideration. I was thinking, perhaps, everybody bringing grub or booze or both. Perhaps tartan...

dear alcofrolics, a group of miscreants, including myself, will be abandoning any remaining shreds of dignity, and descending on Infernos in Clapham Common this Saturday 4th, to re-visit an old haunt in honour of a London expat returning to visit. Just in case anyone fancies seeing us there for filthy sambucc...

Nicola Conte, the main man of Italian new wave Jazz Bossa Nova, returns to the Jazz Cafe for two exclusive shows with the backing of a full live band. Italian DJ/producer Nicola Conte’s loungey brand of acid jazz relies extensively on bossa nova, but is also heavily influenced by the swinging soundtracks of...

Where are the best bagels in London?

I’m a bagel lover, I have a bagel every day when I have the opportunity, but the question is, where can I find the best ones? I frequently buy a bagel from the Bagel Factory outside Euston station (I’ve nearly completed my loyalty card!) but thats just for convenience. Some bagel purists will insist that...
