Is Paddington the new Canary Wharf?

Inspired by an article in the FT a few days ago… Apparently Paddington Basin is set to become the new Canary Wharf with a new 43 story tower amongst other things. What do you think – are we likely to see more flash new high-rises in West London? Where would you rather work? And does anyone remember t...

Searching for the impossible - a decent iron service around Canary Wharf

I’ve used a number of ironing/ dry cleaners in and around Canary Wharf over the years. They all press the shirts including the collars & cuffs, even though a few state that they will hand finish. I hate ironing myself, so hoping there’s someone offering a proper ironing service, who’s trust-...

As it appears that one’s chances of dying a slow, lingering and agonising death are increasing exponentially with the amount of time spent on the underground – does anyone know if it is actually true that you can get to Canary Wharf by boat? And if so, is it any good, how long does it take? catkiller

Does anyone know why crows seem to frequent the same patch of land? I come home on the 277 bus from Canary Wharf every day, and near Mile End park the dark brooding buggers are there every day, hopping around looking menacing. Why don’t they fly somewhere else? Grif

Warning. This is a rant. A cathartic spleen venting. I’m in a mood so logic may not be the strong point of the below. I lost my wallet yesterday. Got out of a cab, paid, thought I’d put it back in my coat, but must have missed the pocket; wandered off in blissful ignorance until I reached the turn...

I was walking home one evening after a night of er…work and alcohol related play in Canary Wharf and stupidly, missed all the last transport from the wonderful Isle of Dogs over into Greenwich. The only way home was by taxi through the Rotherhithe tunnel, I had £12 I needed £15 so they refused to take me (it w...

I’m looking to take someone out for a business lunch. So I don’t want to go to bloody WankyMamas or whatever. Similarly, the budget doesn’t quite extend to La Pont de la Tour. So, where would anybody recommend? I’ve looked on “ILoveLocal” and once I’d got the chocolate teapo...
