Can anyone recommend an agent?

There is an out of print book which I want to buy the rights to and publish. I know that at least one of the two authors is dead, but have no idea about the other one. Can anyone recommend an agent who I could put on the case of tracking down the current rights owners and making them an offer they can’t refuse...

What's the best transporting read for the tube?

A few winters ago I was reading Germinal and decided it was the best tube book ever because, no matter how vile and crammed the central line felt it was nothing to the misery of life down a 19th century coal mine that I was reading about. Similarly (get me for my highbrow tastes in literature) A Day in the Life o...

Do you want to be involved in a book swap type thing?

Here’s how it works, my Aunt’s friend is setting up a book swap. It’s kind of like a chain thing but there are only two names on the list. You send out one paperback to the person on the top of the list, then take their name off the top, put your name on the bottom and give a copy of the list to 6 of your friends....

Does anyone remember an old(ish) book called ‘The Post Office Cat’? About a cat that lived on a farm and travelled on a milk cart into London and ended up getting a ‘job’ catching the mice that used to eat the parcels & goods within? I loved that book! It made me love London even more!

While moping about in Fopp earlier, you only begin to measure my excitement and joy when I clapped my eyes on this year’s most exciting book release to date: “London By London – 2007”. Of course I rushed to the counter to buy a copy, and flicked through it on the way home on the tube, much...

There hasn’t been much said on the subject since last month, I’m nearly finished The Power Of One, am I the only one reading it? Or are you too busy reading to post? Are the original book group FCLers into this? MrsMoo? Agox? Purpaboo? Willster?

My husband (well, OK, me too) is fascinated by old tube stations that are no longer in use and all the hidden tunnels under London’s streets. I would love to get him a book about it but Amazon has so many, I don’t know which to choose! Has anyone read any of them and can suggest a good title?

We’ve all had spooky moments around London, famed as it is for its ghosts and ghouls. And there are certainly some scary sights around Camden and Hoxton of an evening these days. KCL spent some time sharing fairy tales with serious spookmeister general, Richard Jones.

Mr Jones, prolific writer and expert in all things creepy, formerly of Living TV’s Most Haunted Live, has now collaborated with AA Publishing on a new book revealing the darker side of London. He’s helping us all believe in ghosts….

Yes, that’s right, 1000 kudos. It’s time people. Time your witty and insightful musings graced the virtual shelves of Amazon.com once again. I’ve been hard at work compiling the best offerings of the past year. There have been laughs, there have been tears, there have been flounces, but we...

Right then, I don’t have time to muck about on Google any more today, and I need to find an impressive, entertasining yet cheap place to eat tonight, preferably easy to get to, and suitable for my sister and niece who are staying. My sister is a veggie, as am I, and my niece largely seems to live on bacon s...
