Since no one has yet posted here, perhaps one of the All-Knowing Fridaycities Gurus can enlighten us on what kinds of postings they had in mind for the Anonymous category??

I’ve just closed the infamous Kudo hole that allowed devious people to de-anonymise comments. And if you post a location in an anonymous thread, it won’t reveal you any more. So I’m throwing down the gauntlet. Figure out the username I used to make this post and win the staggering sum of FIFTY (...

Unfortunately, one of the consequences of this has been that occ...

The threads about insults were great- we chucked them at each other, kicked each other in the cunt. Brilliant. I can’t think of a better way to spend a day, no really. I can’t. However, what the fuck is all this stuff about EvilLyn? I don’t give a crap about chucking insults around- for a laugh,...

For cheating and bumping this to the front page, but why aren’t the anonymous threads on the front page any more? Aside from…ahem…allowing me the freedom to express myself in ways hitherto unimaginable, I also enjoyed being a voyeur of London’s seedy underbelly. Now you’ve driven it und...

Police To Prosecute Teenager Who Called Scientology A "Cult"

Posted 6 months ago 15 responses

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, chances are it’s a … This was our thought upon reading the news that a teenage member of Scientology-protesting group Anonymous, who goes by the name EpicNoseGuy on the Enturbulation forums, had his sign confiscated at the May 10th anti-”Church” of Scientology protest in Queen Victoria Street by the City of London police, and has been issued with a court summons – all for using the word “cult” to describe the controversial “religion”. If Scientology is listed on the Cult Information Centre, that’s a pretty good indication it’s a cult; if a High Court judge calls it a “cult” (Mr Justice Latey, 1984: Scientology is both immoral and socially obnoxious… [It] is out to capture people, […] and indoctrinate and brainwash them so that they become the unquestioning captives and tools of the cult”) then maybe he has a point; if UK newspapers are unafraid to call it a “cult” (The Sun: “dangerous cult”, Guardian), then, perhaps, a case could be made for putting the word on a placard to be waved at a peaceful protest.
