Hi, Willster and all! I lead the Minciu Sodas laboratory http://www.ms.lt for independent thinkers around the world. We organized, in the Public Domain, a directory of UK online communities on behalf of Mornflake cereal and its online video contest.
Now we’re engaging the friendliest, loveliest, most welcoming and responsive UK online communities that we found. Yes, you made the short list!
The logic is this: It makes more sense for our communities to reach out and help each other with Mornflake’s support (and acknowledge them as I do) than for Mornflake to promote themselves. I ask for your help to pioneer this approach.
MInciu Sodas has a strong gift economy. Most fantastic was our work last year to avert genocide in Kenya. See my latest thinking
I offer a free credit of 50 GBP to support one or more projects here that you may have. The credit can, for example, pay for 20 or so hours of work by an online assistant or on-the-ground researcher like Sasha Mrkailo in Serbia, Dennis Kimambo in Kenya, or Masimba Biriwasha of Zimbabwe / France whose post you may have seen. What project might we best support? I offer 20 kudos for the best answer.

What’s this got to do with the best sushi restaurant in Pimlico?

premiumWe like ducks around here. Or you could look to buying £50 worth of kudos and then liberally smearing the kudos love all over everyone here.
I’m not sure how Kudocities benefits from supporting things we know nothing about. A lot of people on the site raise money for charity regularly, so perhaps you’d like to simply donate the £50 to a charity of your choice and tell us what a lovely warm feeling it gave you over your bowl of mornflakes?
I’m not entirely sure I understand entirely, but the description of the site is very lovely indeed, and highly unlikely to be repeated.

premiumThere’s a dearth of sushi restaurants in Pimlico, actually. There’s a place opposite the big Sainsbury’s but it seemed to be one of those old Asian restaurants that tries to be all things to all people, offering fusion curried sushi on a kebab.
Perhaps we could get Mornflakes to investigate the need for a sushi bar in Pimlico?

There’s just a dearth in Pimlico in general. Not much to be found there. It is a hinterland

I’m looking forward to when Mornflakes is over.
Mournflakes.

£50 can pay for 20 hours of work by an on-line assistant? In an on-line sweatshop?

Just checking in… what wonderful response… ducks and goats look good – and good to be mindful of. The thought is to build bridges between online communities who might care about each other. So it’s learning what does Kudocities know about and care about? what does Minciu Sodas know about and care about? How to leverage that and Mornflake adds 50 GBP of “porridge” that we might glue something together with our “sweet shop” workers like Masimba, Sasha, me… erm. I’m curious to learn more about the ducks and the goats, was that in Ghana? P.S. Does Pimlico have an online community who we could engage?

Willster used to live in Pimlico.

premiumI once befriended a duck. It used to bang my office door to get crisps from me. Then my boss ran over it in her Porsche Cayenne and I could never look her in the eye again. Poor Fup.

Are we communicating with a mainframe computer? I don’t think Andrius is a real human being…

don’t think Andrius is a real human being…
Who is these days ?
I think if you could use the £50 to avert another genocide, that would be money well spent.
Or bribe a tube driver to go to work.

Hi Mellie, this is me. http://www.worknets.org/wiki.cgi?AndriusKulikauskas This is my philosophy that I work on: http://www.worknets.org/wiki.cgi?LivingByTruth/Summary My art work: http://www.flickr.com/photos/50525222@N00/ I am writing from the village of Dukiskes, Lithuania where I’m living with a family of seven (the oldest two are away). I have a cold.
Here is my proposal to Leon Benjamin http://www.winningbysharing.net on how to engage UK online communities http://www.worknets.org/wiki.cgi?MornflakeResearch Now I’m doing a bit more work (1,000 GBP) to engage the most reponsive communities (I’m giving half away through our lab’s services). The best for me is to encourage some kind of long term relationships. If this might work, then I imagine there would be a lot of businesses who would want to support us, our communities (including Kudocities), our projects and our outreach.
Mark, any favorite genocide on your mind? Chief Masimba Biriwasha (also real person) is a children’s author from Zimbabwe. He’s heading back there in August I think, he’s working right now in Paris for UNESCO. Here’s his goat story from last year: http://inside.org.au/hiatus-in-harare/ He wants to study digital publishing in the UK and he mentioned his “give a book” program http://www.worknets.org/wiki.cgi?GiveABook He wants a mentor. He would be a good person to befriend, that would be a good project. What work could he do for Kudocities?

That’s what I thought but now I’m not sure sure, given the research that he would have put in to source Mornflakes and Minciu Sodas
Incidently, Minciu Sodas “is an online laboratory for serving and organizing independent thinkers around the world”. I can’t be the only one that’s flattered by the comparison.

Andrius, to link stuff you can just put the words you want to link in speech marks then put a colon and then paste in the link right after it with no space. Much less messy.

Gosh that’s a tough one, there are so many to choose from. Let me go and look at my facebook top five genocide list
