A great game to play after work…. Find the most terror-inducing, Livingstone-hating, London-is-doomed headline from the week’s Standard. At the end of the week compare headlines and see who wins. Pointless but fun.

Previous winning headlines include:

“TONIGHT WE BOMB!”
“LIVINGSTONE – AL QAEDA LINK!”
“CONGESTION – WE’RE ALL GOING TO DIE!”

The Evening Standard is trying to get us all to flee London with their special brand TERROR/CRIME/GRIDLOCK news style (c. Daily Mail) recently. I suggest a concerted effort to bombard their staff with e-mails from people who were not raped/mugged/towed
away and in fact lead quite normal rape-free lives.

What do you think?

I have been under the illusion for some time that the Evening Standard was entirely staffed by crypto-facist, bigoted little-Englanders working their way up to writing for the Mail. However, perhaps they’re simply too poorly paid to afford a flat in London (i.e. they earn under £50k) and are actively trying to encourage people to move outside the M25 so they can afford somewhere decent. In which case, all power to them.

Just a thought.

I think the worst headline of this week could also win the best headline of the week award. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to tell which paper it was. I think it was tabloid rather than broadsheet. It was on the day that it was announced that Jacko’s body was going to be “Laid in state” at Neverland. The headline said “Can you feel it?”
