Just a quickie. Excluding weatherspoons for the moment; where can a chap quench his thirst without breaking the bank? These will be your locals, your spit and sawdust – “you looking at my pint?” type hostelries? I thank you.

Whereabouts south of the river? There’s the Anerley Arms in Anerley/Penge – Sam Smiths so reassuringly inexpensive. Nothing else is coming to mind at the moment but I’ll have a think.

The ‘Value For Money’ on Falcon Road in Battersea. I would guess – your having no hair might allow you to blend in with the skinheads…

The Kings Head (between Tooting Bec and Broadway) is always surprisingly cheap. Nice pub too.
