Thank God, or some other deity, it’s Friday. We feel like blowing off a little steam. And if there’s one thing that washes away the putrid stench of the workaday world, it’s swinging. No, not that kind of swinging, you fiend. Swinging in a playground, of course. The problem is that hanging around elementary school playgrounds is a good way to get the pesky label of sex offender.

Be that as it may, we want to play. Where can a bunch of grown ups looking to relive their swinging and sliding youth go to play and frolic and twirl in central London?

I know a place. In the so-called summertime I found myself there a couple of times on a saturday or sunday morning on my way home coming down from various drugs. Its a little play area at the top of Goose Green down East Dulwich way. There are swings and a slide I believe, but i only ever played on the swings. It’s amazing how fast you go when you’re a fully grown grown-up.

There’s a playground near the bowling green in Brockwell Park. It even has one of those slidey things that you slide down a rope on. Dunno what they’re called, they weren’t invented in my day. And, there’s some kind of a playgrahnd just off Tower Bridge Road. It’s kind of opposite the Tooley St entrance to Potters Field park.

Trouble with these things is, that they have signs on saying you can’t go in if you’re older than 14, unless you’re accompanying a child.

To hell with the signs, PrincessBride! Although maybe someone should set up an adult playground in the centre of london. a large indoors playground with a bar. I’d use it for sure.
