I’d like to attend. I intend to attend. I’m not committing to anything until it’s a little nearer the time and I have a more of clue about what I’m supposed to be doing.

Spammed: I reckon you CAN change your spots. And the Dove is one of the few good spots in and around the Hammersmith area. (My attempt at cross-referencing/paying homage to an old favourite amongst KCL threads didsn’t really work, did it… Quite frankly, it was pathetic.)

Is Hammersmith a long way away? I suppose it is, if you live a long way from it. Many places are like that in London, as elsewhere. It’s that whole distance thing.

South of the river can be a bit of a trek if you live north of the river, although you have to go through loads of central London before you’re really in north London. Cross a bridge to the south and, bingo, you’re in south London.

Hammersmith Odeon has never had a capacity audience because Hammersmith itself is located in an enormous deserted field, surrounded by meadow. Hammersmith Palais was ALWAYS empty. Hammersmith tube station is the only tube station in London that is served by no tube lines whatsoever.
