Apparently we won’t be having a tube strike because the ballot papers have been stuck in the post due to the post strike.
Is this true? I do hope so.

premiumNot heard this but as a strike cannot go ahead unless the ballot papers are signed , sealed and delivered. So in the case of the tube, same rules apply.
Although once the papers have been delivered, when than, same tube strike just delayed??

LOL, god that’s fantastic. Is there any chance that a tube strike could prevent someone meeting the deadline to announce a postal strike? That would make my day.
Normally, I’m quite a little lefty, but the frequency with which these organisations are striking is really pissing me off. Surely a key part of striking is that it is a last resort? It loses it’s impact if you do it every couple of weeks
Striking to prevent modernising developments is the worst reason for a strike that I have yet heard. Every field of work in existence (yes, even the oldest one) has undergone some form of modernisation – it evolves or it dies. Millions of workers in farming, manufacture, mining, transport, construction and others had to just find work elsewhere when the machines were introduced. And so will you, postie. Get over it.

premiumBabb – if the papers for the ballot are delayed in the post then once delivered the tube union would then want the strike on. Maybe of course delaying the ballot papers would give TfL more change to get through to the Bob Crew and his band to make then see sense – fat chance of that though from previous experiences of tube strikes !!
