A while ago we made it so that anonymous posts stopped appearing on the front page – this was because there was an unfortunate period when a lot of them were tending to degenerate into foot-on-female-genital violence, and it was getting a little silly. Unfortunately, one of the consequences of this has been that occasionally, a really good conversation – such as this one about problems with alcohol, or this one about unwanted body hair – is not given the attention it deserves. We could change it back of course, but frankly, it’d be a pain, especially as we’re busy working on a new way of incorporating anonymous posts into the new site. So this is just a meantime reminder. To check in with the Anonymous section.

I can’t see the problem with the way it is right now. Although I never ever click on anything to the right apart from anonymous and Talk about Fridaycities. I mean, ‘Wanted: Other Things’. It’s not exactly eBay, is it?

I agree with BNM it’s fine how it is, isn’t it? Who just looks at the front page anyway? If they haven’t got the imagination to click on knowledge, you’ve got to question how valuable their input is really, haven’t you?

Please don’t see it as victimisation, I’m quite happy to point out anyone’s temporary stupidity.

You see the good thing about the front page is that it shows a load more recently-updated threads than the Knowledge page does. And when you’re as bored and impatient as I am this can be a critical factor in deciding whether or not to read FCL or ANOther Message Board in that particular doss-time.
