Oldies but goldies - what do you watch over and over?

TV DVD box sets have killed many an afternoon in Babb land. There are some programs that you can watch over and over. My favourites include Red Dwarf, the BBC adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, Have I Got News For You, Friends and Sex In The City. I’m currently working through back to back episodes of Spaced.
What TV programs can you watch over and over and over and over?

premiumScrubs and Friends. One for the so’s-your face humour and and the mean-but-you-would Dr Cox, and the other for the occassional appearance of a monkey and reminding me of being at Uni and spending all day in my PJs eating cake mix.

Scrubs and HIGNFY, definitely. This weekend, I also managed to get sucked in to UK TV Gold’s launch of Dallas, and it’s tack-tastic. My favorite episode by far was named Black Market Baby, in which Sue Ellen paid $15k for a baby and supplied the mother with cans of budweiser and packets of camels to keep her sweet. Ah, the 70’s!

Have to agree with Beagleskin about Scrubs (apart from the doing Dr. Cox bit). Friends you don’t need a DVD boxset, you need Channel 4 and E4. I’m a sucker for Aaron Sorkin’s Sports Night and West Wing marathons, although for giggles I turn to the top-notch Black Books or cheap laughs of Family Guy. I may amend my choices as people mention any of the million other boxsets I’ve acquired.

premiumCurlylad, it’s ok. You don’t have to deny your Dr Cox love. We all have it.
You are right about Family Guy. I could watch it till the cows come home, and then invite the cows in to watch it with me.

There are a few things i’ll watch over and over again, some are just because they are repeated over and over again on TV, others because of Box sets, anyway here’s my list
Scrubs, Black Books, Family Guy, CSI, Teachers, Spaced, League Of Gentlemen, Father Ted and I can sit through about 3 episodes of Cracker at a time

i’m currently watching Red Dwarf and Frasier on DVD.
I subscribe to Lovefilm.com and I often rent out TV series to watch back to back on a lazy weekend. Actually I have a voucher for 3 months of lovefilm free, does anybody want it?

I don’t admit this very often (never), but Friends still makes me laugh out loud. Without fail. Every episode. Laughter.

Black books as well, definitely one of the most underrated comedy series.. and reggie perrin.

Friends and Grey’s anatomy (had to buy box set) for TV. Movies…I hate to admit it, but if Pretty Woman, 4 Weddings or Notting Hill is on TV…I will watch it. Intently. I’ll laugh, I’ll cry, I’ll be glad I did :-)

premiumI hate to admit it too but all of the films that Derazeh mentioned and along with those…Sister Act and Mrs Doubtfire.

Southpark… can never get bored of that. Also, Blackadder, Young Ones, and other funnies like that :)

Spinal tap.
Though I’ve never seen the whole film in one go. I have seen the whoole film, just not in one sitting, perhaps that hints at the fact its not that good. But I keep coming back for more.
It’s a very pretty piece, what do you call it?
It’s called ‘Lick my love pump’

Spaced! American Gothic and Eerie Indiana. I got both of them of them from eBay recently and they’re just as good as I remembered.
I love Spinal Tap, the commentary in character is ace too. The whole film is great, any other view is wrong.
I sleep now.

The Soprano’s is the finest TV show of all time in my opinion. I could watch it endlessly.
The Office (UK version) is possibly my most-watched show though. I have watched it more times than I care to count and know virtually every line of every episode but am showing no signs of tiring of it. It is superb.
Curb Your Enthusiasm is also an absolute gem and makes Seinfeld (previously a great fave of mine) seem average in comparison.
Three or four seasons of 24 are great.
I was a huge fan of Twin Peaks but it hasn’t aged well.
I will leave it there for now.

I’m working my way through them all. Again.

There are so many comedies I can watch again and again and have done, but there’s a few which makes my sides split no matter how many times I watch them…
Father Ted Vic Reeves Big Night Out, Smells of Reeves and Mortimer, Bang Bang It’s Reeves and Mortimer Blackadder Red Dwarf

Scrubs, Blackadder, South Park and Family Guy, most definitely. I must confess to finding That 70s Show most amusing too. Perhaps that’s just ‘cos I fancy Donna…

premiumI’m worried that I never got into Reeves and Mortimer but perhaps it’s an age thing. Or the fact that Mrs PT is a Geordie. Blackadder, Fawlty Towers, Red Dwarf and Spaced! are definitely on the list. I’m surprised no-one has mentioned Green Wing (or, indeed, SITC).
And then you’ve got Dad’s Army and…
