“A letter bomb has exploded at the London HQ of congestion charge firm Capita. A female employee at the office in Victoria Street was slightly injured – she is understood to have opened the envelope.”

I do hope this isn’t you. Everybody OK?

OK, now the story’s been updated, and the company involved has been named as Capita. So, not you lot, then.

Good, good. As you were.

No, we’re fine. Although the concern brought little tears to our eyes.

It’s also worth remembering that we are now in Battersea, so it would have had to have been as astonishing blast to have affected us. I’ve just had a word with Clare W of TFP though, who are still based on Victoria Street, and everyone there is also fine.

Although they’re not being let out of the building for lunch.

Which is a bugger.

But it could be worse.

Yes. Their faces could have melted.

Yes, I was wondering about this too.

I used to work off Victoria St and phoned my old company to make sure all was well.

Now my CRB clearance is going to take even longer to come through.

Why? Are you a terrorist?

A letter bomb wouldn’t cause your face to “melt” per se, silly. Unless it was napalm-based . . . is there something you’re not telling us?

Anyway, another’s apparently gone off, lookit: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/berkshire/6334693.stm

It’s a letter bomb. Calm down for flip’s sake. The woman burned her hands, like holding one of those hand-warmers what hillwalkers use for a bit too long. Please don’t buy the Evening Standard madness that some sort of ‘terror’ has been unleashed.

But we have to panic. Proactively, like. It’s no use panicking after the event. Someone’s face could get melted off.

Run away! Run away!

Let’s face it, who HASN’T got a grudge against Capita?

But yes, I think it’s actually a global plot hatched by the Daily Mail to push house prices up. Bah, never happened in my day….all just fields….leave your doors open etc etc.

If now isn’t the time to go batshit crazy, I don’t when is.

(Personally I reckon it’s Richard Hammond lashing out at the world.)

Our company got hit by one of the following packages. Fuck knows how some people can justify trying to blow someone’s hands off because they’re angry at getting a parking ticket, fine or whatever it was.

I hope they get a puncture.

I just saw the headline to this and was quite touched that you were concerned. I’ll choose to ignore everything in between and say…Yes, I’m great thanks. Slight arm injury, but all in all you could say I am OK.
