This is a bit like that Edward Norton film, 25th Hour. Except I havent seen it yet, so it might not be. Anyhoo, I’ve been out of work for 2 months, and have just got a new job. Having spent most of the past 8 weeks jobseeking and cursing at daytime telly, I have one week of liberty left. I’d like to make the most of it, before I disappear into the 9-5 jungle again.
Daytime telly has rotted my brain (how can there be so many property shows?) I’d like to go places where i can learn something. I’ve been to the major museums. Also, I dont have a lot of money. So, what are your recommendations?

If it’s free stuff you’re after, I would suggest going to watch a trial at the Old Bailey. Check the papers for what’s on. If you get bored, walk up to St Pauls’ and visit Postman’s Park, then go to St Barts and then Smithfield market and laugh at the photo of the man on tiptoes. After that, I can heartily recommend a pint at the Jerusalem Tavern (as recommended by many other people in the post about beer). Then wander up Jerusalem Passage and have another pint at Dovetail. Then go and have something to eat and another pint in Clerkenwell green. Follow that up with a game of fussball at Cafe Kick in Exmouth Market and buy some cured meat from the Spanish deli that’s also there.
Visiting Westminster Abbey is also free.
