I need good, central gallery space to hire

There’s a photographic exhibition in the planning but it needs to find some gallery space that isn’t ruinously expensive to hire for a month but is relatively central London. Has anyone here got any experience doing this or recommendations of places to try please? Am making a start with Candid Arts in Islington but really have no idea about what’s out there. Any advice appreciated! Thanks.

How ritzy does the space need to be? Might be worth contacting local authority arts officers in Camden, Westminster and Islington for suggestions of venues.

I know someone who recently had an exhibition at The Arts Club, in Soho.

Candid Arts turns out to be MASSIVE and GREAT but also, way beyond my means. There’s a pub that might be interested, but before I do it, any more suggestions please?

Not so central, but probably very cheap:

It’s essentially a squat that’s used for community events. It’s quite a nice space but does lend itself towards fairly hippieish events…
