E3 Man and Van

Moving on the bank holiday weekend. Just round the corner (Mile End) but it’s probably a couple of van loads – and I can’t drive… Can anyone recommend a man and van who won’t steal all my things and who will show up on time?

I apologise for the lack of witty banter in this post. I hate moving house. I just hate it and it makes me lose my sense of humour. I’m already sodding packing. I have so much crap.

Never used man and van services but I’ve found Sixt to be the most reasonable van hire firm. One of the main branches would be best as they have half day openings sun/bank hols.

Then all you need to find is a ~~sucker~~ friend to help with the lifting and driving.

Also aussie man and van – they were really helpful – moved everything out of my flat very carefully, also took heavy items downstairs that we weren’t even moving so I didn’t have to struggle with what felt like a 10 tonne sofabed to be sent to the tip. . . .

These people are good, Mr Badger. They’ll cost more than a man and his van but they’ll even pack up your possessions for you in boxes they provide, saving you the hassle and allowing you to sort out keys and other things. They pay for any breakages incurred during delivery. Well worth the stress free experience.

I’ve used AA1 Economy Moves the last two moves in the last two years running and they’ve been a good bunch of geezers (no really, that’s an accurate description) and they are based in Bow / Mile End too. Thanks for all the recommendations – they all seem really good. Best answer chosen by allocating numbers to posts, then shutting my eyes, stopping the stopwatch on my phone and using the millisecond digit.

Babb – I like it too. It is good. The people who run the Morgan Arms have just done up the Crown, off Victoria Park. It’s really nice.

I moved quite recently and used a brilliant guy called Lee Phillips. He only works at weekends, as he has a full time job working for a university during the week but he was superb, and really cheap as well. His number is 07929 178 489.

This guy is really good – he moved my stuff round the corner into storage for about 60 quid (slightly less than an hour’s work). Doesn’t charge 2hr minimums and all that nonsense, sends a text 30 mins before turning up, totally reliable and generally a very nice man :)

Well. I went with onlinetaxivans.com in the end. Jolly good they were too, massive van, very helpful, friendly, professional chap (Paul) and cost less than quote because we got done quicker than expected! Amazing!

Babb – I’ve never seen such a blatant attempt to get a date with me.
