Does anyone else have odd london bus experiences?

Everytime I wait for a bus late at night, I seem to meet a freak.

Last night, for instance- I met a lady who looked like a frog and kept offering me chopped lemon and lime she’d “saved” from being wasted by a pub that was throwing them out. After suggesting (in jest) that she ate the fruit with the half eaten kebab on the floor next to the bus stop- my friend later returned to find her ACTUALLY doing this.

Genius!

Who else finds that london bus stops are a prime location for freak spotting?

I once got on a bus and sat at the back where you have 4 seats facing each other. A coupe of stops after I got on a questionable looking man got on, sat directly opposite me and shouted over and over again “Want fkinng p*y” I looked with pleeing eyes around the bus but nobody came to help me :( I was so relieved when he got off in camden.

i once had a strange man in shorts grope my thigh… not sure how common that is, as i thought the 185 was a nice bus! that’s been the only one in all the years i’ve been in london for – disappointing really. you can see quite a few strange people around victoria bus station at night though – lots of men in suits vomiting and relieving themselves. what a sight!

The 185 has its moments.

I can’t find a link now, but I’m sure it was a 185 where a man was stabbed and the assailant was followed for miles on foot by a member of the public calling the police, but the police response wasn’t quick enough. But there was this….

i was on it once when a man fell down the stairs. he then got up, said he was fine, and then passed out whilst getting off the bus managing to thump his head on the concrete. luckily there were many big burly men to take care of him, but i did get to be a good samaritan and call for the ambulance. very drunkenly. luckily they did get there in time. restores one’s faith in the nhs!

I fell down the stairs on a packed double decker one morning on my way to work. NOT good. I landed on some bloke at the bottom of the stairs and he managed to get away from me without even asking how I was!! Everyone’s so mean in the mornings…

The other day I was getting the 281 bus, and there was a group of old ladies sat down and a fairly young guy standing blocking the bus. I asked him politely to move and he laughed at me!

When one of the ladies got off, he sat himself down and started getting WAY to close. Even if one of them was his grandma you don’t put your arm round them and snuggle up like that do you?

He was so weird! When they went to get off, he wouldn’t move out of the way either. It was just bizarre.

I chortled on the top deck of the 37 earlier; I was on my way back from Dulwich to Acre Lane and, just past one stop, we all saw this lad bomb it across the road- he was sprinting like the Olympics had started. Then, a…shall we say chunky policeman goes jogging past, obviously playing catch up. He looked like Homer Simpson, it was hilarious.

I was on a bus a little while ago when it stopped and some 13/14 year olds got on and from the start they were roudy, shouting at each other like they couldn’t hear and being troublesome to all on the bus. Then a voice from the back of the bus piped up, Thomas Wilkinson, just what do you think you are doing? Everyone, including the teens fell quiet, like who was this woman? the woman in question got up and walked to the front of the bus, grabbing this boy, one of the teens, by the ear and frog marching him to the front. This is Thomas, my son, she said, which explained a lot, like how embarrassing being caught by your mother while doing something wrong !!,

I also know the other lads he is with. thomas will not be doing anything like this again, looking directly at him she added, will he. I also know the parents of the others he is with, they will also be informed.

Oddly enough the boys were very quiet for the rest of the journey.

I got the bus with my sister and mum and I’m pretty sure the smelliest man in London deliberately came and sat near us. Not only that decided we were the best people on the bus to talk about the Rolling Stones. I was quite relieved when he got off at Camden I think it was, until he stood up and his baggy loose fitting tracksuit bottoms fell down flashing most of the bus his smelly dirty privates. I’ve never been so repulsed on all my life.

Salvaged lemon and lime? I’m sure her offer was in zest.

Thanks. I’m here all week.

I’m quite new to this board, but I’ve found generally on the internet that if there’s someone who I find uninteresting, their contributions are instantly improved by someone obsessively following their every post pointing out how dull they find them.
