Anyone fancy driving to Serbia in July to see a load of bands?

Just an idea at the moment, but there’s still tickets available for the EXIT festival in Serbia from Thursday July 6th until Sunday July 9th.

I fancy driving over there in some sort of van – possibly buy an old banger off eBay, drive it over and back, then re-sell it when we get back.

Tickets are 78 Euros, (54 quid) and it’s about 1300 miles. I reckon a stopover in Prague would be good, too.

Acts include Franz Ferdinand, the Cult, Beastie Boys, Morrissey, Cardigans, Billy Idol, Pet Shop Boys, Andy C, James Holden, etc etc etc

Anyway, not sure I can be arsed, but if enough lovely people are up for a week away, and have enough money to pay for a van, ferries, fuel, visas, tickets, beer, cheese and booze, then lets talk about it here.

Sounds like a bit of a gag to me.

oh i went last year. was wicked. fly to budapest and get the train… oh and if you have serbian friends they can get you tickets for about £10…

was cool because it is an evening style festival unlike in the uk… so more like 7pm – 7am… then you spend the day on the beach drinking beer and warming up for the evening. lovely. slav girls. yum.

might be there myself depending on what the boss has to say… find the popbox guys and tell them i sent you…

That was indeed me. It was a shocking, shocking weekend. It was a lot more fun that expected though.

I can’t afford to do both. I’m saving to go to Thailand in October.

willster – remember EXIT isn’t in belgrade. it’s up north in a small town called novi sad. but belgrade is definitely worth a visit. am there all the time with work and could easily wangle a work trip to coincide… let me know your plans and i will show you belgrade!

ah ,yeah, Sarge, I knew it was in Novi Sad, but Belgrade was easier fr the purposes of this conversation…. and purpaboooo, only in the Merc if you put lovely new small wheels on or we just make sure we go only in straight lines…..
