An observation about post boxes.

Post boxes eh? We love em don’t we? What with their other-worldliness and their permanence. I tell you what though, they’ve started to perplex me. Some post boxes have twin slots, which are quite often labelled. Now we all know about First and Second class, and that second class means you’re mail is more likely to be late, lost or trampled, but why are some boxes labelled to distinguish between Franked and Stamped, International and Domestic, 0207 or 0208? I can understand why you want to make that distinction when sorting, but why on the post boxes? In the future will we see Male and Female? People you like, people you hate? Bills or Birthday Cards with Cash or Postal Orders? Please enlighten me.

Royal Mail don’t want to spend their stonking profits on anything as mundane as sorting offices, evidently.

I knew this post was dull, but I was trying to be a bit more relevant. See what I get? Thanks for playing Floaty, but I think I’m going to go back to posting about felching and frottage.

Maybe you could combine the two. Frotting (frottaging?) a post box. Mmm. Kinky.

Yes, thanks haff. What a pan of rare distinction you are. If you uncover anything do let me know.

I’ve always wondered how they choose where exactly to site post boxes, anyone know? is it a certain distance apart or something akin to pavement feng shui?
