Right then, I don’t have time to muck about on Google any more today, and I need to find an impressive, entertasining yet cheap place to eat tonight, preferably easy to get to, and suitable for my sister and niece who are staying.
My sister is a veggie, as am I, and my niece largely seems to live on bacon sarnies, hula hoops and Smirnoff Ice. There’s the problem.
And It has to be cheap (ish), have booze, be a litle bit different and hopefully have the potential for making a memorable night out.
Tell me where to take them, people, so I don’t have to think.
Thank you. And I’d normally give more kudos, but I’ve given all mine to the Bank of BNM.

What about Blah Blah Blah? I keep forgetting how to link words:

It’s pretty rustic inside but in quite a cool way, think niece will like it. I think it’s BYO so you can buy your own smirnoff ice, been a few years since I ate there but the food was quite good from what I remember.
It is Shepherds bush though so may be too way out west.

Tuk Tuk on Wardour St (this is the second time I’ve reccomended it, in as many posts, but their Pad Thai was awesome!)
They do a veggie set menu, of dirt cheap Thai food, for £13 per person.

I lie, it was £8 per person. Even better!

How about some Blues with your good-value veggie dinner at the Green Note in Camden? It’s a very cool little veg cafe/music venue which is cheap-ish, has booze and probably meets the rest of your brief as well.

I second the Green Note.
And tonight The Velours are playing there.

Green Note is superb and run by some lovely people with a spot on philosophy, aces on the music front, ‘tis monthly Blues night tonight methinks – although I can’t speak on food as I’m a meatafarian.
If you’re not in the mood for blues, try Camden Kitchen. It’s not uber different, but it’s charming, friendly, laid back, a bit different and generally full of bon homie (see the Hopper Bar Fly parody on the wall). Usually quite good on a weekday night, but I don’t know about their veggie stance (they do stuff, I just wouldn’t know, as per previous). I’ve even got the phone number on my mobile…whoop, there you go: 0207 485 2744
And when you’re done, head up Delancey St to the un-named Goose & Crown – vastly underestimated boozer. Spit and sawdust m’be, but just downright ace.

premiumThis is all very good – thank you. Green note sounds like we’d have to book though? Other suggestions are Eat and Two Veg, as recommended by flesh-scoffing IAmJonny, and that tapas bar on Old Compton Street.

Yes Eat and Two Veg on Marylebone High Street was the other one I was going to mention actually. It’s good.
You can probably just turn up at the Green Note and pay on the door. But you’d want to get there not too late if you want to get a table. Or why not call them and, um, book.

premium onlineEat and Two Veg I thought the burger tasted a bit like brown protein and the bun was handknitted. Nice purple coleslaw thing, though.

premiumGreen Note won our business. I was nicely shouty drunk on arrival, the music was excellent, and the food was great. Thanks, all, for the suggestions.
