Hello, chaps. I need to have a meeting with a client on Wednesday evening, at about half seven, and so need to find a reasonably quiet pub somewhere central (anywhere within the area bounded by the Circle Line, basically).

Further, it needs to have Wi-Fi (free, for preference. Obviously). Does anyone have any bright ideas?

30 shiny Kudos to anyone who can help…

More of a bar than a pub but it’s interesting and you have a choice of bar or charcuterie bar http://www.villandry.com/. Always nice and quiet in the weekdays. It’s on Great Portland Street so easy access to lots of tube lines.

Here’s a list of a few Wifi-enabled London boozers – clicky – my favourite is number 22, the Price of Wales on Cleaver Square, but it’s just outside your catchment area. Otherwise I’d go for their opening gambit of the Harcourt.

A lot of City pubs will be covered by The Cloud” – not sure if this is free or not though.

What you need, DK, is one of these!

I second the Prince of Wales. however within your Catchment area you could try McDonalds on the Strand; Foyles Jazz Cafe (though that’s more of a date place, do you want to shag your client?) or Dirty Dicks in Liverpool Street.

I wouldn’t call Dirty Dicks “a reasonably quiet pub”. What’s your success rate at Foyles Jazz Cafe?

Thanks for all the tips, I shall store them up. I went for Villandry in the end, and very nice it was too.

Cheers, all…
