I am meeting someone tomorrow for a work-related thing. She’s coming in from Oxford so can anyone suggest a pleasant cafe where one can do work-related things for a couple of hours at least and is not over noisy, somewhere near Paddington. Ish. ? On a Sunday.

Hmm. Not sure.
This, apparently, seems to be the best that London can come up with.

Oh – I might well be too late, but how about the cafe over the canal where Edgware Road meets Maida Vale? Pretty view, watching the boats pass underneath you, and they always used to do a mean Eggs Benedict, although they’ve recently refurbed, so I’m not sure if it’s still the same owners.
Alternatively, there’s the Bridge House pub on Delamere Terrace – again, right next to the canal.
Finally, there’s the Union bar in Sheldon Square, part of the new Paddington Basin development. During the week it’s full of Visa employees, but at the weekend it’s probably quieter.
