A deal-clinching joint

Imagine the scene. It’s 5.30pm, central London, Friday evening. You are bringing two people together, who, if they get on, work things out and strike a (business) deal, could make you a little bit richer and a lot more joyful. BUT…the meeting has to take place somewhere quiet. Somewhere Covent Garden-ish, ideally. Booze won’t be necessary. I just can’t quiet think of anywhere that’s quiet, easy to get to, and not too expensive (ie for a nice brew) and it’s bugging the heck out of me. Probably because there are almost too many choices, dammit. I know this sort of thing has probably been asked before, I just can’t be arsed to search. Thankyous all round in advance. Beer-related rescue calls about 6pm will probably be most welcome too.

Theatre bars are empty for most of the evening and some of them are quite nice. Surely.

Covent Garden Hotel? Dial Bar at the Radisson.

I’ll also go with a hotel bar, but possibly not the ‘trendier’ ones as they can get horribly busy of a Friday night (I often go for drinks at the Charlotte St & Soho Hotels and they’re usually packed).

What about the Kingsway Hall Hotel on Great Queen Street? It’s only a short walk from Covent Garden tube…
