100 lovely free books

I’m ruddy sick of eBay and Amazon, and people asking inane questions then not even bidding for my lovely books. I have 100 books to give away. Free. I’m moving soon, and simply can’t be arsed to lug them all with me. So, if you can come and collect them – whenever you like really, they are yours. Preference will be given to a charity, of course, or anyone who is willing to swap them for something nice, like a hug, cheese, booze, fags, drugs, flowers, tea, sympathy….. I have a list of what they are, mostly paperback fiction, and they are worth over 200 quid curently on Amazon. There’s dictionaries, some travel guides, and four or five hardback factual books. Go on, take them off my hands. Before July 10th, please…...

ps… I meant to say, I can email the list of titles/value etc if anyone is that interested….and despite what those of you who know me may be thinking, none of them are pervy or dodgy or have any pages stuck together, for that matter…...

Dictionaries? Yes please. My current dictionary is much-loved, but I’ve had it since I was at prep school and I could do with something a little more up to date.

I’d love to get my mitts on some of your books, cos I’m book-mad me… Do wonder though if your ‘not Slough’ tag means I shall have to pack up my home and move further afield in order to be more eligible?

MonkeysAhoy!

Free books – oh my god, I’m salivating the way I normally only do for cheese. Or brownies. Or popcorn. Or… Right, books. How many boxes do they take up? I presume it;s a job that needs to be done with a car. Can I please weigh in with a definite maybe, as I need to clear both the journey and the entry of more books into the house? Would love to see a list. In return, any cheese and/or baked good is yours.

er…blimey. This is all good. Twiglet, I STILL have your bag of shite. The dictionaries, floaty, are sadly Dutch/English and English/ Dutch, very useful, I’m sure. Carmen, I was trying to make a play on words Reading/reading. Don’t laugh too much. Potty, I’m just moving to Highgate. Nice to see you on pervy form. Richo, the cult book is yours. If I can find it…. Monkeys, I’ll do anything for a cheese straw…...I think they would only take up about three boxes/two fruit crates (which I have) I’ll put the list up somewhere, let you all know and you can choose which you want…..and any left over will go to charity or thrown into the ‘bookcrossing’ thing.

I also have some bookcases, which are a bit rubbish, and I’d like to get rid of them too.

Whoever has a car and the momentum to come to my house and collect them can have them…....

Thatz ok, WIllster, I’d immediately got your gist, and was just ribbing you. Anywho in my view, Reading isn’t the most riveting of places at the best of times but, in spite of starring in Road Wars every blessed week, Sluff’s not nearly half as rough as some would believe.

Still bookbound? Or is the mound going down?

Right. I’ve offloaded about six, with no firm collection dates or anything. Honestly, you can’t give them away. And BNM, I bought a book shop last summer, these books are in no way a reflection of my literary tastes. Especially not the Amenorrhea one.

Aha, I was wondering about the abundance of chick-lit… I’d be very happy to take these off your hands:

Sawday, Alastair French Holiday Homes (Alastair Sawday’s Special Places to Stay) Sawday, Alastair French Hotels, Inns and Other Places (Alastair Sawday’s Special

...and also the LP Hartley.

Happy to bake you some of my famous chocolate chip cookies by way of thanks!
