Chips are to be eaten with salt and sauce and not salt and vinegar.

Thats true. They look at you funny if you ask for salt and vinegar. Also, the best chippy in the city centre is the one on the Royal Mile. I think its called something like the Oyster Bar. The chips are fantastic and its always busy.
