Get crabs this weekend

This weekend sees a celebration of our special sideways-moving friend, the humble crab. Well, it’s not much of a celebration for the crabs themselves, really, as they’ll be dead. And soaked in chilli. But that makes us happy, at least.
Yes, London’s east end is set to be transformed into the World’s Chilli Crab capital, as the Tiger Beer Singapore Chilli Crab Festival 2008 returns and promises to be even bigger and better than last year when over 15,000 of you crustacean crunchers turned up to celebrate all things Singaporean!
The beer vendors promise a transformation of the east end into a ‘Singaporean oasis’ full to the brim with exotic tastes, smells and sounds of the Far East.
We’ll have even more mouthwatering Singaporean cuisine for you to sample, including that chitinous exoskeletoned culinary delight Chilli Crab, along with delectable desserts to satisfy your burnt-mouth sugar cravings.
There’ll also be a Singaporean garden where you can sit and soak up the atmosphere, or maybe bury bits of claw; bustling market stalls so you can marvel at Singaporean tourist tat, and an entertainment line-up to enjoy throughout the hopefully warm late-summer afternoon.
What’s more, you’ll be able re-create Chilli Crab at home, after watching the cookery demonstrations of talented celebrity chef, Terry Tan, who will be right in the middle of things again!
