BoJo in LU TOs u-turn

Boris may not have been able to save our Post Offices, but he has succeeded in reversing a decision to close dozens of Underground ticket offices. A mayor’s spokesman confirmed that the 40 offices will remain open and that Mr Johnson had made the issue a priority. The move, a Livingstone money-scrimping initiative, was opposed by passenger groups amid concerns that safety would be compromised by staffless stations, and Johnson’s decision to keep them open was greeted as [cliche alert] a “victory for common sense”. Of course, dear old Ken did ‘give away’ 100,000 oyster cards As relations between the City Hall incumbent and his predecessor get heated, we’ll credit this smart decision to the Mayor’s ledger.
